Lost Checkerboard

Patterns appeal to me on many levels: the repetition, the ordering of a space, the sharp contrast in black and white checks. They are a distillation of what I see in nature, what I remember from my childhood (playing checkers with my sister in this case), and an opportunity to invent abstract designs that suggest different meanings. I think the variety of patterns we can create is endless!
